Residents Give Back

Life is all about give and take. We just hope we give more then we receive. At Hosanna Community, we try to live by that principal. Hosanna Community provides an opportunity for each resident to live an independent life. We try to encourage residents to live to their full potentials. We have seen many residents come through this house and develop skills that help them become successful and productive members of society.

All of the residents who are able to work or volunteer do so in areas they find rewarding. One resident works at the Social Security Office and has for four years. She now supervises three trainees. Another resident whose parents were once told he would never be able to walk or talk again is now an employee at Target. We have residents who volunteer at Siskin, The Creative Discovery Museum and local churches. Many residents participate in the Siskin re-entry program to further develop their skills to get back into the workforce. Another is attending community college. Residents who are not yet able to work externally volunteer within the Hosanna Community assisting with preparing meals, working on the flowerbeds and tending to minor maintenance.

We are proud of all of the residents’ achievements every day, knowing they give back to the community with everything they can. It is nice to see they do not take for granted but take advantage of each opportunity they can to give back to the greater community of Chattanooga.
