In South Pittsburg, Tennessee, lives a petite, bright-eyed, wonderful young lady named Catherine Brown. In 1991, she lived with her husband and adult son, Bill, who was seriously physically challenged with cerebral palsy. Bill is full of smiles and well adjusted to his situation. He just needs a little help with his daily tasks.
Neither Catherine nor her husband was in the best of health. They worried about who would take care of Bill when they were no longer able. Catherine is a go-getter and set her mind on finding a place for Bill that was not an institution, like a nursing home, but rather a real home where he could live and grow in a family setting. In her search, she discovered a physically challenged community in Florida. The Browns liked the home but were told the waiting list was too long. There was no hope for Bill ever to be accepted.
Close to desperation, Catherine asked the director, “What in the world am I going to do?” The reply was very direct, “Start your own home.”

That is just what she did. With the help of generous people in the community and lots of prayer, Hosanna House was formed and began accepting residents in March 1996. Hosanna Community now includes two houses, and a third house is planned for the future.
